AACA Notecards with Original Art by Annie Laurie Dodd
Nov 11, 2008 by Natalie Glenn
The Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary is pleased to announce their newest fundraiser – notecards that feature the art of Annie Laurie Dodd.
The Dodd watercolors grace these cards sold in packages of ten featuring a variety of watercolor flowers or packages of ten Christmas poinsettias.
Beautiful is the word that best describes this true Southern Lady. Annie Laurie Dodd is beautiful both inside and out and creates most beautiful watercolors of our southern garden flowers. Following in the steps of her late husband, Lamar Dodd, Annie Laurie is lending her artistic talents to benefit the Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary. Thirty years ago Lamar Dodd shared five of his oil painting with the American Cancer Society in a successful Christmas Card project. Now Annie Laurie has graciously consented to allow the Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary to use six of her exquisite paintings as note cards.
The Athens community is indeed fortunate to have such a generous lady willing to share her beautiful paintings with the Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary. The Auxiliary has designated the proceeds from the project to be used to provide services to cancer patients through the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support and St. Mary’s Hospice House.
The notecards are available at several retail locations in and around Athens including Heery’s Too, Georgia Museum of Art gift store, the State Botanical Gardens gift store, Elizabeth Ann Florist, and St. Mary’s gift store.
